The Power Of A Group

Some of you may know my husband Jim and I are both fond of motorcycles. Not just motorcycles, but Harleys to be exact.
There’s something incredibly freeing about riding a Harley on the open road. Can’t really put it into words. Only riders will understand.
The thing is, even though I love it, I hadn’t ridden a bike in yeeeears. I had been in an accident a while ago, and had been too scared to get back on a bike ever since.
It was a point of shame for me, especially as a coach who helps others get over their fears. I felt like a hypocrite.
What really convinced me to get back on was actually a group training class I heard about from a friend. I could learn to ride again with some great coaches and trainers, and do it in a group that I’d feel connected to.
My husband even joined to brush up his skills and support me. <3
I don’t think I would have had the courage to hire someone for 1-on-1 training, and doing it without any help would be a recipe for disaster (and injury!). But being in a group just made it waaay less intimidating.
At the group class, I was so pumped up! It was incredibly thrilling to be back on the bike, and the trainers were fantastic.
If you’ve ever seen me in person, you know what I’m kind of loud and I get energy from being around others. So being in that group class was the perfect environment for me. I made friends and bonded with all the other students so quickly.
We were laughing, high-fiving, giving each other tips and support. Couldn’t have asked for more!
BUT it didn’t all go smoothly…
I didn’t pass the class. In fact, I ended up leaving the class with my ego, and body, wounded.
I’ll tell you what happened tomorrow. Until then, if you’re looking to be part of a group of dedicated real investors who love to laugh, high-five, and support each other, you can join us for our upcoming workshop here:

Get Back On The Bike

Yesterday, I started telling a story about my recent motorcycle lesson. It was a group class that I was loving, but my body couldn’t really keep up.
You see, it had been so long since I rode, that my hand didn’t have enough strength to handle the bike for several hours in a row. Halfway through the class my hand was trembling.
I should’ve been cautious and taken it easy… but I’m just not the type.
I forged ahead and tried to power through.
Later in the day, my hand quit out on me completely. I couldn’t hold the handlebars anymore. My hand slipped off and I lost control of the bike.
I spun out and tried to set the bike down. It was really scary!
Somehow, I managed to escape with just a few scrapes and bruises. They hurt like hell and there was some blood, but I avoided major injury.
Now I don’t want anyone to blame my instructors for this! (even though they blamed themselves)
It was MY fault.
I didn’t listen. I pushed through like a bone-head. I paid the price.
And yeah, it was SOOO embarassing! Especially since I was the only woman in the class. Dammit!
BUT even though I had a minor accident, that doesn’t mean I’m going to give up on riding again.
The accident reminded me of a BAD real estate deal I once had. One where I was so so excited, and then everything that could go wrong, did. That made me want to quit for a while too. But if I had, I would have never gotten where I am now.
I would have never been financially free.
I already gave up several years of my life missing out on something I should have been doing. Missing out on more isn’t the answer.
I won’t live my life scared. I’ll get back on the bike.
And you should too.
If you’ve had a bad experience with a real estate deal, and you’re ready to get back on the bike yourself, you can RSVP to our upcoming 2 day workshop here:
You’ll find a caring, supporting community who will cheer you on and lift you up when you spin out.

Late Night Blues

Hey,
I know it’s late but, I was just reminiscing about when I was first getting started in this whole real estate thang.
I was a single mom, and I used to stay up late at night to learn about real estate. Late night was the only time I could find.
When I get interested in something, I go DEEP. Back then I read every book on real estate I could get my hands on, signed up for all the home study courses, trainings, and seminars. All of it.
I wanted to become an expert overnight!
Some of that stuff really helped, and I learned a lot.
And then some of it just overwhelmed me. It was too much.
Too much info, too much confusion, too much stuff in my head!
Then I’d burn out and get frustrated…
And I’d sink into this slump for a while.
At times the last thing I wanted to do was think about real estate! I’d have all these books and courses, and I knew there was great info in them, but I just couldn’t bear to crack them open.
I’d feel guilty about it and beat myself up...
Late night blues.
So if you’ve ever felt that way you’re NOT alone.
Eventually I figured out why this was happening, and the dangers of relying on “motivation”.
I’ll tell you more about it tomorrow.
Until then you can check out the link below to get access all of my expertise from those all those books, courses, and seminars. Not to mention 20 years of in the trenches experience.
